A playful documentary that blends an intimate family portrait with a tense mystery story and highlights the importance of family ties, community and lending a hand in times of need. In a small Norwegian village, a mysterious package filled with gifts arrives on the same family's doorstep every Christmas, as it has for more than twenty-two years. Since no one knows who the sender is, nine-year-old Edle and her younger brother Brage decide to solve the family mystery themselves. Filmed by their mother, Silje, and guided by clues, family memories and conversations with relatives, they embark on an investigation that takes them further than they ever expected.
"What I especially love about the documentary is that you need to use what you have. You need to use the story, the people, and then you need to create it visually within certain limits, because the story is unfolding on its own terms. And those limits spur me on creatively. But it's just the way you can use the visuals, the sound, the music and everything else to create an art form or a story. So, I see myself not as an artist, but more as a storyteller, because I use all these elements to tell a story." (Silje Evensmo Jacobsen)
