Lov na ljudi
Wayne Wapeemukwa · Canada, 2026 · 103 min
Inspired by the real-life 2019 manhunt in Northern British Columbia, when two teenage boys murdered three strangers and fled north through ghost towns and endless forests. Joey lives with his ailing grandmother and a father who is largely an alcohol-fuelled presence. Within the lonely confines of Joey's world, his best friend Kit stands out - disconnected from reality by his wealthy upbringing. The pair spend much of their time gaming and actively participating in online forums, where they eagerly share photos of their latest creation - a 3D-printed rifle. The two young men decide to leave their monotonous lives behind and set off for northern Canada. There, the line between reality and digital simulation begins to blur.
"I made Manhunt because I wanted to understand how men become what they fear - how shame, loneliness, and a hunger for belonging can turn into rage. When I was a teenager, my best friend drifted into white nationalism. Watching that transformation broke something in me. I recognized the same despair that had haunted my father - and, if I'm honest, the same despair that once haunted me." (Wayne Wapeemukwa)
