A traumatic period of twentieth-century Carinthia seen through a series of intimate, personal testimonies from Carinthian Slovenes. The documentary focuses on Carinthian Slovenes who share their traumatic first-hand experiences of the period between 1939 and 1945. Some joined the German armed forces, others the resistance movement; some fought underground, while many were deported to labour and concentration camps… The individual stories and fates of these men and women gradually merge into a shared narrative.
